the countdown to 2016 is on and we are breaking down the security precautions, officials are taking in philadelphia to keep tonight's celebration safe. the mother of the so-called affluenza teen is back in the u.s. facing a felony charge in texas for helping her son escape to mexico and eagles interim head coach says it was business as usual head noogt season finale against the giants. but we begin with breaking news in delaware county, where firefighters are battling a house fire near southwest street and jeffrey avenue, chopper 6 hd is live over the scene, working to figure out when the fire started and if anyone was inside at the time. but you can see the damage done, the charred edge of the building this is in chester pennsylvania, firefighters on the scene of a fire here. we are also following breaking news in philadelphia's tacony section where police are following a robbery that ended

joe is 28 now and became a crusader against celebratory gun fire on new years eve, he was hit by a bullets that was snot in the air when he was only 15 years old. he continues to make dramatic progress and top law enforcement officials say like they do every year, don't do it, you'll end up in jail. >> we can't have people firing guns into the sky, the police are out and i've asked commissioner ramsey are on the lookout for that and they will be charged with recklessly endangering another person and there is too much gun fire and last year there was a reduction, we had 78 calls of gunshots, now the reality is, most people don't bother to call 911 on new years eve when they hear gunshots. >> as for anti-terrorism security, being around events like the mummers parade and

the first time. >> put yourself in tanya's shoes, what would you do if you were a parent and your son was the most hated boy in texas. >> now spotted the affluenza teen in mexico being transported to another facility in mexico city where he is held behind bars until deported. they believe they fled in late november, after a video showed ethan violating his probation at a party with alcohol. we get a peek into their short lived escape to mexico. tanya walks in a butcher shop trying to pay in dollar and ethan in a backwards cap his dark hair dyed black. ethan couch originally charged as a juvenile, is facing time in

jail for violating his probation. his mother is facing 2 to 10 years in the penitentiary. >> the sheriff's department expects to transport tanya couch to texas next week, her son's proceedings could take longer up to three weeks. today eagles interim head coach, pat shermer laid out his plans for the season finale against the new york giants, the first time shermer spoke to the media after being named interim coach. he takes over for chip kelly. and his game plan won't differ much from what the team is doing all season. >> we started something in motion here and the players are used to doing thing a certain way and in many of the things we are doing is right.

a former pennsylvania beauty queen accused in a fake cancer squeem is back in court. brandy weaver gates is charged with felony fraud by deception accused of faking leukemia and

accepting donation, authorities say she raised $30,000 and used the cash to shop online. the former miss pennsylvania was stripped of her crown in august, weaver gates has pled not guilty. a dog dumped in a vacant lot now has a safe home this year. it was captured on animal by officers looking for people dumping illegal cash, the dog was tossed from its owner suv. the suv sped away leaving him following, they launched a search and lucky the camera snapped more photos of the dog on the loose and led him to find him in the nearby woods and the opener faces multiple charges of animal abandonment. >> real housewives star theresa

karen is in for david and has the latest from accuweather as we countdown to the new year, it's getting brighter and lots of sunshine coming. i like it. >> stormtracker 6 live double scan looking around the area, we are dry and have showers clipping southern delaware and cape may county and see them off the coast and no problem now, lets go outside. the action cam was capturing lots of clouds and peeks of sunshine here or there above our city this morning. a good start to the day, temperatures started at 50s and hovering at the same all day long. 57 in allentown and 51 in trenton and wilmington and millville. 50 in cape may and 51 in atlantic city. and normally we have -- satellite 6 along with action radar we are seeing breaks in the clouds and not quite getting that. some spots with see the clouds

thin. we see a whole lot brighter and the past 10 days are damp and dreary, and the rain is staying down to the south and clips parts of delaware and parts of cape may county. and looking at the numbers as to what to expect. 3:00 p.m. 50 degrees with sunshine and mixing with clouds and 5:00 p.m. 48 degrees and partly cloudy skies and 7:00 p.m. 46 and 9:00 p.m. 43 the overnight low is 46 degrees, when are you ringing in the new year tonight, partly cloudy skies windchills in the mid-30s, 6:00 p.m. 45 and midnight 40 degrees, that is a good newspaper for this time of year. if you are headed to the parade why not, temperatures overall above average but the windchills are in the 30s. by 9:00 a.m. 38 and 1:00 p.m. 44 and 5:00 p.m. 42 for the big mummers parade. i don't think the wind should be bad enough to cause issues.
